Learning to pray is about seeking God. Since separates us from God and willfully continuing causes Him to not hear. An important part of prayer is a willingness to address our sins to position our hearts to seek God with our whole heart.

When we known we need to change, what stops us from doing it. Paul describes the battle between our flesh and our spirit. Jesus provides the spiritual victory.
