Sermon: Matthew 6:10
Your Kingdom Come
Jesus preached that the kingdom of heaven was "at hand," and told the Jews that the kingdom was "in your midst." Yet, the kingdom was not established until Jesus was glorified and the Holy Spirit given in Acts 2:32-33. Finally, we are taught to look forward to the great and glorious appearing of the kingdom. Has the kingdom come? Are we waiting for a future revealing of the kingdom? Should we pray, "Your kingdom come”? In this lesson we discuss the Bible's answers to these questions.
Why does James teach us to confess our sins to one another? How do our prayers for one another help in our mutual struggles against sin? What about intercession?
In Acts 9:31, God was causing growth when the churches were walking in the fear of the Lord. What does it mean to fear the Lord and how do we learn to walk in it?
God promises great reward to those who endure persecution for righteousness’ sake. How do we learn to focus on the reward instead of the pain in the midst of trials?
Jesus illustrates how we learn to store up treasure in heaven: 1) the master we serve, 2) a good vs evil eye, 3) the provisions we trust, 4) what we seek most.
In our study on prayer we direct our attention to James 5:16, “confess your sins to one another.” If Jesus is our advocate, why do we confess to one another?
We explore the biblical concept that Jesus is our advocate in the court room of heaven who intercedes and gives us the power to overcome our accuser by His blood.
Acts 9:31 summarizes the pattern of congregational growth seen in the book of Acts. Each congregation was 1) edified, 2) comforted, 3) then multiples. Are we?
In Lesson 2, we established the principle of reward. We now dig deeper to consider how endurance in suffering for the sake of Christ leads to great reward.
We continue our discussion of Jesus' teachings on fasting. Why is fasting considered a practice of righteousness? What is it about fasting that God rewards?
James 5:16 says the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much. What does a righteous person look like? The epistle of James contains the answer.

Paul admonishes us to “walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.” What is that calling and how do we walk in it? We are called to walk in holiness.
